Chelsea have claimed the first major silverware of the season after two deflected goals handed them a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the Capitol One Cup final. Jose Mourinho's side took the lead just before half-time when captain John Terry's shot skimmed off Eric Dier's boot and into the net. It was a cross from Diego Costa that helped double Chelsea's advantage - the ball ricocheting off Kyle Walker and beyond goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Tottenham hit the crossbar through Christian Eriksen in the first half and pushed hard to regain a foothold in the game but it was the west Londoners who lifted the trophy at Wembley.
