Kaká to Milan
The Milan vice-president, Adriano Galliani, is attempting to bring the Brazilian playmaker Kaká back to San Siro on a free transfer but the Real Madrid player is yet to agree terms with the Italian club. The 31-year-old last week admitted he wanted to leave the Bernabéu after four years, having joined from Milan for a reported €70m (£56m) in 2009.
Kaká is set to sign a reported two-year contract with Milan – on greatly reduced terms – and the Real president, Florentino Pérez, is not asking for financial compensation, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Madrid's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, has insisted Fábio Coentrão will be staying with the Spanish club. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have been linked with the Portugal left-back, who was said to be keen to move.
However, Ancelotti said on Sunday: "Fabio is staying. I understood that he wanted to go, but really it was not the same desire for everyone. Now he's decided to stay and everybody, the club, players and coaching staff, are happy with this decision."
McManaman to Crystal Palace The Wigan Athletic chairman, Dave Whelan, has rejected what he called an "insulting" £2.5m offer for the England Under-20 winger Callum McManaman from Crystal Palace. "I don't know if they were trying to be funny or clever," Whelan said, "but it was not worth taking seriously. Callum has got so much to offer but his career would be best served with another year at Wigan." Cardiff City are also interested in McManaman. Gargano to Parma
Parma have signed the Uruguay international Walter Gargano on loan from Napoli. "Parma FC announces the signing of midfielder Walter Gargano from Napoli on loan with the option of a permanent deal," Parma said in a statement on their website (http://www.fcparma.com). Guilavogui to Atlético Madrid
The France international Joshua Guilavogui has travelled to Spain for a medical in advance of a proposed move from St Etienne to the Champions League contenders Atlético Madrid. "He left this morning for Madrid," St Etienne's president, Roland Romeyer, said. The home-grown Guilavogui, 22, won his first cap in June and has made three appearances for the national team. He has been called up for next week's World Cup qualifier in Georgia.
