Liverpool's bid to push through a £15m deal for Ukraine forward Yevhen Konoplyanka fell apart in the final minutes of deadline day, but elsewhere others were more successful in adding to their squads as Premier League teams spent close to £130m in January. Of the 56 signings by Premier League clubs in the window, 20 were completed on the final day, with the biggest spending coming from west London as Chelsea and Fulham both paid £12m for a player. Chelsea signed Kurt Zouma from St Etienne, where the defender will spend the rest of the season on loan, while Fulham broke their transfer record to bring in Kostas Mitroglou from Olympiakos. Crystal Palace sealed all of their deals on deadline day as Wayne Hennessey, Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann, Thomas Ince and Joe Ledley all made a last-minute move to south London.
