Premier League chief admits technology could help settle 'factual matters'

Richard Scudamore quizzed after wrong player sent off

But says he would not want to change 'essence of game'

The Premier League's chief executive, Richard Scudamore, would welcome a discussion on the introduction of refereeing aids to help resolve matters of a "factual nature" after the case of mistaken identity at Stamford Bridge.

The referee Andre Marriner sent off the wrong Arsenal player at Chelsea, causing uproar when he awarded a penalty for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's handball and sent off Kieran Gibbs by mistake despite the real culprit owning up.
